ESB International brings Virtual Reality to Malta

ESB International brings Virtual Reality to Malta

From 21-26 January, The National STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Career Expo took place in Malta. ElectroGas Malta (EGM), a client of ESB International, was a main sponsor of the event. ESB International seized the opportunity to partner with EGM and bring a positive experience to the Career Expo.

ElectroGas Malta Ltd is a private company by a group of local and international partners and was given the responsibility for the construction of the first LNG (liquefied natural gas) power plant in Delimara, Malta.

The power plant provides a new source of safe and reliable gas-powered electricity to the Maltese Islands.

It has enhanced Malta’s efficiency in electricity generation by approximately 53% as well as reducing emissions by 50% and particulate matter by 90%. ESB Internationals role is to effectively operate the power plant.

The Career Expo took place at Esplora, Malta’s interactive science venue, with 400-500 students per day and ages ranging from 10 to 21.

The event aimed to raise awareness and interest in STEM employment careers with the younger generation.

Ensuring alignment with ESB’s Generation Tomorrow sponsorship, ESB International sparked curiosity in attendees by bringing virtual reality of subsea cable repair to the Expo.

Today's youth will build tomorrow's world and attendance at this local science fair was identified as being key in building strong stakeholder relationships with a strategically important client as, generating awareness of the business in the local community and strengthening ESB Internationals appeal as an employer brand.
