The Future Energy Show, the largest renewable energy event in the Philippines with over 8,000 attendees, is taking place from the 7th to the 8th of September in SMX Manila. The event will spotlight the latest sector expertise in the region with insightful sessions on topics including solar power, project development and grid technology.

About Cameron Welsh

With over 35 years of experience in engineering solutions for critical infrastructure within the UK and across Europe, Cameron Welsh is passionate about the energy transition, having worked on projects such as Ancillary Services, Smart Frequency Control within Networks, Renewable Generation Development, PPAs and Energy Trading. 

Cameron is part of ESB International’s Strategic Advisory and Engineering Design Services team, which has been operating globally for nearly 50 years. ESB International advises on shaping electricity markets and the futures of utilities, helping clients achieve their transformation projects, accelerating the energy transition, and supporting energy security. 

With a career in Business Process Transformation, Data Centres, and Energy Systems, Cameron’s broad experience and solution orientation makes him an excellent advocate to help clients achieve their strategic goals through shared enthusiasm and pragmatism.

Simon Leyden Simon Leyden Business Development Manager, International Financial Institutions

About Simon Leyden

Simon Leyden is a Business Development manager at ESB International, focusing on our relations with International Financial Institutions (IFI). Simon has worked in Project Finance, specialising in traditional and alternative energy for over 15 years. During that time, he has worked with several financial institutions in Ireland and abroad, including time with the European Investment Bank – the European Union's Climate Bank in Luxembourg.  

Simon brings expertise in understanding energy policy, international finance, large-scale project finance, and the application of development bank finance to energy projects, especially in Developing Economies. Simon has a B.A. (Joint Hons) in Economics and Geography from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc in Economic Policy from the University of London (School of Oriental and African Studies).  

The experience ESB International brings as a utility-based consultancy to our parent company ESB, which is transitioning to a low-carbon energy future based on clean, reliable, affordable electricity, lends itself perfectly to further collaboration and knowledge sharing in the region.
